The hardest part of becoming financially free is getting started. I have spoken to many people and they all have the same excuse, they don’t have time. What better to make time for? They have time to create debt but no time to get out of it. Strange, the logic is beyond me. I image that since you have read my book thus far you may be a candidate to get started, well see…
Course Outline:
- Construct a plan on how not to waste money.
- Construct a plan on how not to lose money.
- Construct a plan on how to put the money you are currently wasting to work.
- How not to get duped with those "get rich quick" schemes.
- Where to get the information you need to succeed.
- Learn how to make money using your brain not your braun.
Steps you will take to be on your way to financial freedom:
- Get your paycheck automatically deposited to your checking account (Direct Deposit).
- Get online banking with your bank.
- Open a free brokerage account or a Roth IRA (both would be good).
- Contribute $5.00 or more a week to one or both of these accounts. Use the online banking to automatically do this so you won’t forget.
- Once the money is in the account it doesn’t exist anymore except for investing. Never pay a bill with it.
- Once you have saved enough for an investment, purchase one. You should have been doing research this whole time.
- Keep financial knowledge and help close at all times.
- Most importantly: If you get into financial distress or even think that you might in the future, get help early to avoid getting in deeper. It’s never too early to seek help, you may possibly avoid the situation altogether. Being afraid or embarrassed about your finances and not seeking help will only get you deeper into debt and trouble.
Here are some questions that you should be asking yourself. Answering these questions honestly will help you to define a path for knowledge acquisition.
- Define assets, liabilities and potential liabilities.
- Define working for money vs. money working for you.
- Define rich vs. wealthy.
- How much knowledge in other areas do you have?
- What are your strong skills? How can you utilize them?
- If you were given 10K, what would they do with it?
- How can I get on the other side of the financial scale.
- How can I be the bank?
